CodeBrowser

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information CodeBrowser (codebrowser.org) collects, how it is used and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Analytics data. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Umami and Independent Analytics) to understand which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and what device types they use. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
  • Server logs. Like most websites, our server records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and blocking abuse.
  • Contact form submissions. If you contact us, we receive the details you enter, such as your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply to you.
  • Search performance data. We use Google Search Console, which tells us how the site appears in Google search results. It does not track individual visitors on our site.

Cookies

CodeBrowser does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set strictly necessary cookies, for example when an administrator is logged in. If you click an affiliate link and visit another website, that website may set its own cookies to record the referral. Those cookies are governed by that website’s privacy policy.

Tools on this site

Some CodeBrowser tools ask you to enter information such as hostnames, file permissions or configuration settings. Where a tool states that it runs in your browser, the data you enter is processed on your device and is not sent to our server. Never enter passwords or private keys into any website unless you understand how that data is handled.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure and improve the website
  • To understand which content and tools are useful
  • To respond to messages you send us

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers for hosting, analytics and search data. We also link to third-party websites, including affiliate partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, so please review their policies when you visit them.

Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. We use reasonable technical measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, reach us through our contact page.

Children

CodeBrowser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
